Under minimum supervision, performs incoming, first piece, in-progress and/or final inspection on assembled products, using customer prints/specifications. Inspections may include inspections of materials, parts and complete switchboards for compliance with engineering, manufacturing, quality specifications. Assure non-conforming product and processes are identified and documented within an AS9100 quality management system.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform workmanship, visual, and mechanical inspections on MilRics, Accelerometers, Commercial, and Space products.
Perform assigned QA product and process audits.
Input to, and maintain, QA inspection databases.
Investigate and determine cause of defective parts, units or processes.
Assist with final assembly audits and inventory audits as requested.
Responds to requests for assistance with quality issues and problems.
Initiates disposition of rejected materials, parts or devices.
Interface with Customer & Government Quality Representatives.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May perform routine analyses and calculations using general knowledge of mathematics and statistics.
Train and coach production employees.
Lead Receiving and In-process Inspections, including all supervisory functions.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
Education:
High School Education or GED.
Some College/University classes.
Willing to be Certified to MIL-STD-2000, IPC and NASA Workmanship standards.
Experience:
4-6 years of work experience in Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality Control or related field.
Other:
Knowledgeable and skilled in the use of standard mechanical and electrical instruments/functional gauges/rigs, hand/eye coordination. Ability to read engineering drawings/blueprints/schematics/specifications and inspection instructions. Self-Motivated. Good communication and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task. Good time management skills. Works well/accurate under pressure. Ability to follow written instructions/techniques.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work involves walking, standing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects, and reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing; stooping, kneeling, talking and hearing. Standing 80%, walking/sitting 20%. 20/20 vision or correctable to 20/20. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, ability to adjust focus, and ability to pass color acuity test. The employee may be required to push, pull, lift and/or carry up to 20-25 pounds consistently and 50 pounds occasionally. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet and, at all times is within safe OSHA decibel constraints.
